Qualification & Experience Requirements:
o Bachelor in Engineering degree and minimum 6 years relevant electrical engineering, maintenance and operations experience of which at least 3 years were gained in an Oil and Gas operating facility
A minimum 6 years of relevant experience is expected for TA3
o Good knowledge of International engineering standards, best practices, and systems
o Aware of & familiar with issues surrounding high pressure and high H2S facilities
o Experienced in driving business improvement in engineering, key words being: technology, fit-for-purpose solutions and cost effectiveness
o Experienced in staff development, training, coaching, and/or mentoring.
o Experienced in PLC control and integration including data register mapping
o Experienced in Proactive Technical Monitoring for Electrical Protective Equipment
o Use of intelligent electronic devices such as IEC 61850 compliance including using GOOSE protocol over TCP/IP networks for electrical breaker control and monitoring in substations.

o Capable of managing small teams to achieve a well-defined goal.

Job Accountabilities:
Assures technical integrity of Company installations throughout their life cycle. This includes responsibilities for the Electrical Engineering discipline in the following areas of expertise:
o Generators
o Motors
o UPS Systems
o Ex equipment
o HV and LV Switchboards
o Transformers
o Electrical Process Heaters
o Load Management System / Distribution Management System (LMS/DMS) and their supporting infrastructure protocols and data transmission systems.
Electrical Heat Tracing (EHT)
o Variable Speed Drives (VSD’s)
o Electrical Protection Relays including IPCDs
o Power System Analysis
o Navigation Aids
o Integration of smart electrical equipment into control systems, OSI PI, and local HMIs
o Proactive Technical Monitoring of electrical equipment
The role requires the candidate to be successfully assessed as a Technical Authority Level 3 (TA3) according to the Company TA Process. It is expected to have passed this assessment within six months from acceptance of the role.
TA3 specific responsibilities include:
o Originates, prepares and develops work deliverables
o Reviews and approves business critical deliverables requiring TA-3 authorization (e.g. of an electrical discipline content and limited multi-discipline content)
o Can be required to work on deliverables requiring TA-2 authorization, which are co- authorized/peer reviewed by a TA-2
o Participates in technical verification exercises of contractor deliverables as directed by TA2
o Review and update Company discipline standards
o Participate in Hardware Barrier Assessments as required to demonstrate the health of the SCE barriers
o Review Facility Status Reporting (FSR) submitted deviations to ensure the deviation maintains acceptable integrity of the safety barrier
o Participate in Process Safety Field Observations program
o Respond to technical queries from projects, operations, maintenance, or vendors
o Provide technical assurance on project deliverables or MOC design packages
o Maintain close working relationship with TA-1 to ensure alignment and continuity on technical aspects for acceptance of deliverables
Other aspects of the role includes:
o Define electrical designs and propose equipment layout and arrangement to meet minor project requirements in an operating environment.
o Represents Electrical Engineering in HAZOPS, SIL, Risk Assessments and other safety reviews
o Leads & participates in complex Process Safety incident investigations related to discipline
o Promotes Process Safety and shares learning’s from Process Safety incidents across the organization
o Review, update, and compile Preventative Maintenance Library (PMLs) procedures for the effective maintenance of electrical equipment.
o Thoroughly review Management of Change (MoC) proposals to ensure plant & equipment integrity is preserved and approve as appropriate
o Provides innovative solutions for complex problems using, at time, incomplete information
o Contributes new ideas and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency of business processes and to improve value delivery to projects
o Identify, analyze & promote improvement opportunities to optimize equipment capacity & performance
o Provide support in troubleshooting, diagnosis & investigation of discipline related issues and to establish a plan for correction or mitigation
o Reviews operational issues and formulates proposals to improve MTBF and MTTR in a cost effective manner
o Is accountable for exercising appropriate discipline controls for Company projects throughout the ORP phases (Identify, Assess, Select, Define, Execute)
o Represents Venture at FAT and SAT’s
o Undertakes tasks and projects of moderate complexity
o Design, engineer, construct and commission modifications and projects to appropriate technical and RoK standards
o Defines the scope of work and progresses contracts for services related to Electrical projects, with minimal supervision
o Assists in the management of technical interfaces with contractors and vendors
o Ensures high quality critical as-built documents and drawings related to the discipline for Company assets and for all projects
o Develops effective working relationships with relevant disciplines and customers
o Acts as role model to promote strong service culture.
Plays a key coaching & mentor role for National staff in the skill pool and frontline technicians
o Visits Company onshore and offshore facilities to build a strong asset intimacy.
