Requirements:
Bachelor Degree or higher in chemical/process engineering.
A minimum 5 years’ experience and proven track record in similar position.
Overall broad Oil & Gas facilities knowledge required but specific experience in onshore and offshore detailed design and follow on engineering to assist project definition of the detailed engineering phase.
Experience in design and operation of high content of H2S facilities.
Experience in design and operation of treatment facilities, with direct application in upstream oil&gas facilities and environmental protection oriented.
Required Competences:
Ability to analyse and verify process systems, including sulphur packaging storage and rail loading schemes.
Proficiency in process simulation and use of simulation software (e.g. HYSIM or UNISYM).
Facility to effectively assimilate technical issues and develop means for problem solving.
Experience and understanding of HSE and operational features in the design of process and utility systems.
Communication skills to explain technical issues to others and write specifications and reports.
Ability to integrate into a team environment focusing on project deliverables completion.
Ability to liaise with equipment vendors and interface with in-house technical specialists and other engineering disciplines.
Ability to identify, discuss and develop process issues to solution
Fluent in English.
Responsibilities:
Support preparation of process specifications as a basis for the engineering contractor to proceed with FEED and the detailed design of process & utility systems related to onshore and offshore projects whilst accounting for design quality, execution, time of implementation and cost.
Overseeing process engineering design work performed by the engineering contractor, and ensuring this work is timely completed in compliance with required codes and specifications. As part of this, to review submitted engineering contractor and vendor process design documentation, such as block diagrams, PFDs, UFDs, P&IDs, heat and mass balances, data sheets, Cause & Effects, process reports, etc.
Ensuring the use of appropriate discipline engineering standards, with appropriate consideration of international and Kazakhstan national standards and norms.
Providing process input into technical studies, operating guidelines, design verification and technical queries for the onshore and offshore projects of Company.
Participating in process safety management, including hazard identification, HAZOP, technical integrity reviews, HSE reviews and audits as required.
Process support and assistance in the development & consistency of other discipline and general project engineering documentation.
To assess the technology and systems to allow improvements and facilitate design and operability.
Supporting preparation, development and approval of design engineering documentation such as datasheets, specifications and philosophies.
Supporting development of safety critical elements and performance standards, if required.
To ensure the development of local capabilities and provide on-job training of the assigned resources.
Overseeing the process engineering activities in accordance with budget, schedule and quality standards.
Advise on process equipment standardization, availability, and sparing philosophies.
To support the Technical Services Team Lead (CSA/EIT) by supervising, reporting and updating on all the technical aspects of process engineering activities.
