Requirements:

Holding Technical Engineering Degree - must have an approved Professional Engineer (PE) status or
Chartered Engineer with Membership of a Professional Engineering Institution or equivalent registration that
confirms technical qualifications.
 6-8 years relevant experience in discipline engineering in an offshore oil and gas project environment;
experience as discipline leader;
 Min 3 years’ experience as a Senior Technical Safety Engineer.
 Min 2 years Project experience at concept selection, FEED and Detail Design or Operation Support either in a
Design or Production role.
 Member of a Professional Engineering Institution.
Required Competences:
 Good understanding of the Technical and Safety issues of exploration and production activities.
 Good understanding of the safety regulatory frameworks of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
 Proven track record in the preparation of technical documentation to a high standard.
 Good Interpersonal skills in working with people from wide variety of international backgrounds.
 Working knowledge of computer tools including some engineering applications and 3D model review tool.

Responsibilities:

The job holder is responsible for ensuring support to HSE Case activities under the supervision of the Head of Technical
Support and in particular:
 Leading / approving the design reviews of the Active and Passive Fire Protection Systems and the Fire & Gas
Detection, and safety equipment requirements.
 Determining the standards that should be applied for the preparation and development of Design Safety
Engineering Documentation such as Hazardous Area Layouts, Fire and Gas Detection Layouts, Area Protection
Layouts.
 Company Approval of Design Safety Engineering Documentation such as Hazardous Area Layouts, Fire and
Gas Detection Layouts, Area Protection Layouts.
 Development Bowties and Safety Critical Elements and Performance Standards.
 Supporting processes and documentation as required for the HSE aspects of permitting within RoK.
 Determine the need for mitigation measures in design & operation that have to be implemented by project
engineers.
 Prepare / Approve TSSD as part of MOC/design/engineering documentation.
 Undertake tasks on behalf of Head of Technical Support or Health and Operations Safety Integrity Manager.
 Lead investigations, surveys and studies necessary to develop area of work assigned (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP,
Bowties, etc.)
 Implement Best Engineering Practice & technology and bench marking Risk Assessment activities.
 Ensure relevant RoK Legislation, Codes, Standards and Procedures are implemented in work activities.
 Coordinate with other disciplines, departments, project personnel, vendors, clients, etc.
 Develop training materials for development of engineers and act as coach & mentor.
 Participate on specialist courses for technical and personal skills
 Resolving and responding to technical queries.
 Ensure engineering quality and adherence to RoK and Company standards.
 Review and approve design documentation produced by Design Contractor and EPC Contractors
 Review and Approve contractor/vendor or supplier documentation
 Provide Engineering support for Construction and Commissioning teams.
 Provide site support for surveys for testing of equipment.
 Control the activities in Technical HSE discipline, interface with the overall planning of Offshore Project, monitor
the schedule, to finalize the priority, to manage the variations of the Project
 Providing timely and effective information, communication and reporting.
