Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical, Chemical, Mechanical, Process, Reliability Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in corrosion monitoring, integrity assessment and inspection processes in Oil and Gas or Petrochemical industry.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in RBI methodologies. Experience with established methodologies ( API, DNV, etc).
- API certifications are and added advantage.
Required Competences:
- Familiar with materials, fabrication and inspection of static equipment and piping and able to understand and interpret relevant International Codes, Standards and Practices.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to make presentations, prepare training materials and write effective reports.
- Fluently written and spoken English skills.
- Computer literacy above average with strong preference towards.
- Ability to liaise with the Site engineers as well as Materials Corrosion, Inspection, Reliability and Mechanical engineers on integrity related issues, understanding of causal analysis and problem solving principles.
- Strong team player with a proactive approach to the decision making process.
- Ability to coach lead and influence national and international staff. Strong teaching skills and ability to explain, and prepare teaching materials on complex technical issues related to pressure equipment integrity.
- Excellent housekeeping and ability to maintain good records inspection records.
- QA/QC competencies and familiarity with ISO9001 architecture.
Responsibilities:
- This role has a subject matter expert and supervisory responsibilities. The holder of this position is expected to have been successfully nominated as SME in RBI as described by the Company Technical Authority Manual within six months of accepting this position.
- Subject Mater Expert in RBI with strong background in Materials and Corrosion Engineering, Inspection Engineering, Process Engineering or Reliability Engineering.
- Lead technical assessments related to RBI in accordance with the Company’s standards, specifications and procedures for pressure systems. To include but not limited to: Pressure vessels, pipe work, tanks, pressure safety valves, etc.
- Responsible and accountable for supporting and assisting materials, corrosion and inspection engineers (MC&) in all RBI activities. Provide technical advise to MC&I to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of the RBI program
- Review and endorse technical documentation including practices and procedures related to RBI assessments. Monitor and evaluates the technical effectiveness of RBI studies.
- Liaise with multidiscipline engineers, especially Process in order to properly identify deterioration mechanisms, corrosion circuits and establish proper investigation/inspection policies, plans and actions.
- Support maintenance optimization project necessary for challenging turnaround scope, increasing turnaround intervals and reducing turnaround duration. Actively participate in turnaround preparation activities around inspection scope and action plans based on degradation mechanisms.
- Secure RBI sustainability after WIMS database implementation by successfully coaching, mentoring and certifying PEI staff in RBI methodology and use of S-RBI tool as per Shell Company standards and capable of running in-house RBI workshops.
- Develop training program for employees in PEI with emphasis on Kazkah nationals and assess their progress and development including competencies.
- Participate in Kazakhstan technical committee meetings and develop technical specifications for the adoption of the RBI methodology in ROK laws and standards.
