Requirements:

 An Engineering degree in Mechanical/Structural or Civil discipline or equivalent.
 Minimum of 6-8 years discipline experience, preferably in complex onshore and offshore gathering and pipeline systems in oil and gas project front end engineering, detailed design, delivery and operation.
 All aspects of mechanical design (stress analysis, flow assurance, installation, etc.).
 Experience in previous similar company role, especially in managing and interfacing with major Contractors.
 Experience in design of pipeline in arctic and ice load conditions would be an advantage.
 Previous experience and familiarity with RoK and/ or other Caspian projects highly desirable.

Required Competences:
 Ability to manage the performance of Engineering Contractors and deliver the established Project objectives.
 Experience in all aspects of Pipeline considerations for complex offshore and onshore facilities processing high H2S fluids.
 Experience in leading pipeline design and evaluating operability / constructability considerations with Engineering contractors.
 Working knowledge of all relevant discipline codes and standards.
 Good understanding of planning and executing projects.
 Good understanding of HSE importance in planning and executing projects.
 Application of Project Management processes and methodologies to the delivery of a pipeline system.
 Proactive approach to decision-making process (in the pipeline discipline).
 Ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex technical / commercial problems.
 Ability to communicate complex issues to business management and Shareholders.
 Good interpersonal and team-working skills.
 Good written and spoken English language skills.

Responsibilities:

 Optimize the pipeline design and resulting costs, by exploring novel design techniques and utilizing lessons learned, and experience from Experimental Phase and other Kashagan development phases on applied studies.
 Provide technical input, guidance and supervision in the Assess and Concept Select phases.
 Develop pipeline-engineering solutions for a wide variety of pipeline configurations, including HT/HP pipelines, pipe-in-pipe, and sour multiphase pipelines.
 Provide knowledge sharing/mentoring to junior pipeline engineering members of DP&S.
 Ensure a variety of installation methods is feasible given specific constraints, including surface tow, push-pull and shallow water lay.
 Prepare detailed written reports on all pipeline issues, and make presentations on it.
 Provide technical co-ordination of line pipe material selection.
 Prepare scopes of work and technical input to the required documentation.
 Explore novel design techniques for optimizing the pipeline design.
 Technical management of several innovative pipeline developments such as fiber optic leak detection systems.
 Determine safe engineering limits, in terms of materials, welds, applied strain and environment, hence ensuring freedom from hydrogen induced and sulphide stress corrosion cracking.
 Provide engineering input to cost and schedule.
 Review pipeline cost estimates.
 Review all studies and engineering works related to pipeline discipline, carried out by Engineering Contractor, during the execution of Assess and Select stage works .
 Identify appropriate pipeline engineering standards for the project, in line with Company standard philosophy.
 Identify surveys and tests to be carried out to gather information for the design development (i.e. geotechnical and geophysical investigation, topographic surveys, ice modelling tests, etc.), applying the results to the engineering and design definition of the facilities.
 Provide technical expertise in data analysis and input to support the assessment of fabrication yards and installation contractors.
 Proactively recognize and integrate the business drivers for project development (HSE, operational, commercial).
 Maintaining an overall business development focus through the planning and execution of necessary and timely deliverables.
 Prepare and execute the schedule of studies in line with field development plans
 Prepare and agree work program and deliverables, and associated budget and planning.
 Provide assistance to set up of the adequate organization for achieving these studies
 Provide the assistance when required to the management of interactions with Commercial team, High management of Company, Co-Ventures, external national authorities and ministries.
 Ensure regular reporting to any stakeholder, external and internal, as requested,
 Assure compliance of the recommended development plan with applicable national and international standards, and the justification of any derogation as required.
 Promote innovative concepts whenever possible and ensure evaluating them for optimization of the development plan.
