Key Responsibilities:
- Develops, updates and implements welding control processes, procedures and technical requirements in accordance with Company standards and the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- Develops, revises and approves technical documentation, methodologies and procedures related to welding activities, including welder qualification and weld joint inspection;
- Maintains and ensures the up-to-date status of welding procedure, standards and technical documentation registers;
- Conducts internal and external audits of welding activities, assesses compliance with Company requirements and the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and monitors the implementation of corrective actions;
- Provides technical control and oversight of welding activities during construction, new installations, modifications, maintenance and repair works;
- Provides technical support and consultation to contractors on welding activities and compliance with Company standards, procedures and technical requirements;
- Acts as the technical coordinator and focal point for welding-related matters, liaising with Engineering, Construction, Operations, Maintenance, Materials, Corrosion, Inspection, Mechanical and Piping disciplines;
- Analyzes the quality and integrity of welded joints, including weld degradation mechanisms, fit-up, material selection, heat treatment and associated welding processes;
- Provides expert technical support for project reviews, supplier technical evaluations, contract clarifications and development of recommendations to improve welding quality and processes;
- Develops and delivers technical training and courses on welding processes and welding inspection for Kazakhstani employees, and performs management assignments within the scope of the position's responsibilities in a timely and proper manner.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Welding Engineering or a closely related field, and related membership of a recognised professional body;
- 6-8 years’ experience in Welding/Inspection/Maintenance activities in the specific area of competences;
- Experienced in providing advice, facilitation, and training on the development, administration, and technical aspects of an organization’s welding, inspection and quality systems or improvement efforts at all levels;
- Upper-intermediate level of English or higher.
