Job Accountabilities:

  • Provide tools for risk management/assessment; to contribute to the setting of risk management standards;
  • Facilitate risk analysis and assessments of process change utilising tools such as HAZOP, HAZID, What-if, etc;
  • Provide support to departments of Operations Directorate during incident investigations and other activities associated with technical safety and risk management issues;
  • Support development of programmes for company staff to promote process safety culture amongst the national and expatriate employees and to ensure the awareness of major accident hazards;
  • Lead and participate in process safety audit for compliance with corporate company policy and RoK requirements;
  • Provide technical advice and support in the development of the Rock DSIU;
  • Input into budget consideration for THE expenditure in respect to the areas that are the responsibility of this position, however the position carries no authority for the authorization of expenditure.

 

Qualification requirements:

  • Operations Risk Engineer I: higher education (University degree or higher) in the relevant speciality and not less than 2 years of work experience as Operations Risk Engineer II;
  • Operations Risk Engineer II: higher education (University degree or higher) in the relevant speciality and not less than 2 years of work experience as Operations Risk Engineer III;
  • Operations Risk Engineer III: higher education (University degree or higher) in the relevant speciality without any work experience requirements or secondary professional education in the relevant speciality and not less than 2 years of work experience as Technician I;
  • HAZOP/HAZID techniques;
  • Working knowledge of Risk Assessment techniques, incident investigation, auditing and safety management systems;
  • Technical compliance audit;
  • Safety Case or DSIU development and implementation;
  • Emergency Evacuation and Rescue assessment and strategies;
  • Processes and facilities design and operations.
  • proficiency with MS Office applications and other basic office software packages;
  • Business partnering skills to coach, support and challenge colleagues in all KPO directorates;
  • communication skills in English.
