Job Accountabilities:

• Deliver all Civil engineering design activities within schedule whilst maintaining technical integrity and complying with HSE values. Provide technical oversight of Civil aspects of projects
• Interface with EPC engineering services contractor(s), to review, validate and accept their Civil work and deliverables (calculations, design, specifications, etc) that have been developed.
  Co-ordinate the Civil design with other disciplines to comply with project specifications and requirements. Assist in the development (review and comment) of Project Civil specifications.Assist in the development and implementation of organizational processes and procedures and assure compliance with approved processes and procedures.
• Co-ordinate project design activities within the section to ensure the achievement of quality, completion and profit objectives. Plan and co-ordinate the activities of the group and to allocate staff to ensure that the Project Design tasks are completed to schedule and in accordance with Corporate or Project engineering standards. Prepare budgets and time schedules for management approval and plan assigned projects.
• Plan and coordinate activities of Civil design groups to deliver detailed design, workpacks and associated material requisitions.
• Supervision of Civil design personnel and allocation of work.
• Ensure surveys of the worksite are understaken as necessary to develop the required detailed knowledge of the work area.
• Checking of accuracy and content prior to approval of Civil design documentation, specifications, procedures, data sheets, calculations, bills of material and purchase requisitions.
• Review and control any discipline design work carried out by third parties, vendors or Design Institutes ensuring compliance with relevant standards and procedures.
• Undertake work in accordance with relevant Codes, Standards and Procedures.
• Liaise and attend meetings with other disciplines, departments, project personnel, third parties, vendors or Design Institutes as necessary to meet delivery dates.
• Advise Engineering Manager of changes in resources required.
• Ensure compliance of project with technical assignment for engineering, selection of the right principal scheme of complex, high level standardization and unification of equipment.
• Control quality and preparation of technical documentation in timely manner, compliance with project equipment, components and materials with effective standards and technical terms.
• Study best domestic and foreign practice of completion of similar works with the purpose to use this practice during the design stage.
• Aware of international and/or local Codes & Standards used in petroleum industry (e.g. ASME, API, ISO, SNIP, GOST) and best practices.
• Make recommendations and conclusions to technical documentation received from third party organizations for drafts of standards and technical terms.
• Actively train and encourage the development of National engineering staff to fulfil discipline engineering role providing Competency Assessment, Staff Mentoring, On the Job Training (OJT), and arranging discipline specialist courses. Manage performance appraisals, competency development & career development of assigned personnel.
• Supervise the detailed engineering design for the implementation of modifications and projects not deemed to require the services of the Engineering Services Contractor.

Qualification requirements:

• Master's Degree in Structural Civil Engineering.
• Minimum experience of 10 years in the field of structural design of engineering works. industrial preferably in companies operating in the Oil & Gas sector.
• Teamwork and good aptitude for taking on leadership and responsibilities.
• Mastery in the use of technical software such as SAAP2000, STAAD PRO, STAAD FOUNDATION, RAM CONNECTION, AUTOCAD.
• Knowledge of the main national and international technical design standards.
• Fluent in English.
