Job Accountabilities:
- Complete assigned work on time to meet company objectives. The work will include review of Field Modification Requests, investigations, site surveys, feasibility studies, conceptual design, detailed design, calculations, cost estimation and design activities assigned to the Senior Mechanical Engineer.
- Supervise the engineering work assigned to external design institutes and engineering companies, to ensure delivery of the work according to the plan and company's standards.
- Supervise the engineering and procurement activities assigned to the Senior Mechanical Engineer.
- Perform peer and inter-discipline design reviews. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and departments to deliver the field modifications as per approved plan.
- Control technical compliance of purchased mechanical, rotating and packaged equipment and associated materials.
- Supervise acceptance testing of purchased machinery and packaged equipment.
- Prepare and issue the handover note of engineering design.
- Provide mechanical engineering support to the constructing and commissioning teams; Ad-hoc construction supervision of the field modifications during major shutdowns or at Line Manager’ request.
- Maintain the engineering discipline trackers and report progress of all assigned work to Field Engineering Superintendent, project coordination and other support functions.
- Ensure the selection of cost-effective designs and materials, taking into account operating costs and standardization of equipment.
- Ensure compliance of assigned engineering work with the terms of the design brief or technical assignment and applicable specifications, codes and standards.
Required Competences:
- Higher education (University degree or higher) in the relevant speciality and not less than 4 years of work experience in the position of Mechanical Engineer.
- Onshore oil & gas upstream facilities
- Engineering practice for project concept selection, FEED study, detailed design follows on engineering and closeout;
- Plant machinery in the oil and gas industry;
- Piping classes, materials and valve data sheets;
- Methods for specifying pipe systems, valves and supports;
- Piping system theory and its practical implementation;
- Pressure vessel design and tank design;
- Heat exchanger design;
- Pump sizing and specification;
- Mechanical rotating equipment for oil and gas process plant;
- ROK and international codes, regulations and standards relating to piping engineering;
- Latest developments and current best practice in piping engineering;
- Competence in the process of multidiscipline engineering workflows with working knowledge of the significance in deliverable hierarchies and prioritisation;
- SAP system, Microsoft office application, knowledge of fluent English written and spoken.
- Technical report writing;
- Time management;
- Computer literacy.
