Job Accountabilities:
- Control commitments, expenditures and Actual cost of work performed against approved budgets and AFE’s;
- Ensure correct coding and allocation of transactions against approved WP&B and AFE’s;
- Prepare and analyse monthly and annual cost report packages for Project teams, PMO (Programme Management Office) management and other stakeholders verifying cost performance against plan and identifying areas of potential budget overrun requiring corrective action;
- Work with assigned Project Team to provide cost analysis and results for their area of responsibility;
- Assist the Budget and Economics Team in preparation of AFE’s and annual work programme and budgets;
- Liaise with Contract and Planning functions to develop cost forecasts, earned value and phasing calculations for capital projects;
- Complete all Corporate and Financial reporting requirements including Forecasts, accruals, variance analysis etc.;
- Manage cost trends and change control process;
- Develop and maintain Cost Breakdown structure;
- Update cost procedures and ensure compliance with company's corporate requirements;
- Supervise, train and develop Cost technicians;
- Assist the Lead Cost Engineer in reviewing and auditing of department processes to ensure procedures and process maps are being adhered to.
Required Competences:
- Project Cost Analysis including assessment of Commitment, VOWD, Forecasting and expenditure validation;
- Cost Breakdown Structures and Financial chart of accounts;
- Fundamentals of Project Management & construction process;
- Labour Law;
- Safety Norms and regulations.
- Computer literature with good communication skills;
- Ability to produce concise and accurate reports;
