Job Accountabilities:
The primary accountabilities for the job holder are:
Technical Authority (TA 2)
Provides functional expertise and technical knowledge in process engineering. Advises, using established policy and procedures, concerning multiphase flow and flow assurance, and process engineering (including compression, gas dehydration, sour gas injection, process safeguarding and sour gas treatment and processing, crude stabilization, produced water handling, Sulfur Recovery and Tai Gas Treatment, Produced Water treatment as well as sewage water treatment etc.).
Ensures Onshore/Offshore Process Safeguarding Complies with Company and Industry Codes and Standards. Advises Head of Process Engineering & Technology of any deviations to Company and Industry Codes and Standards. Implements Codes & Standards to be used for Process Engineering discipline. Makes recommendations related to the interpretation of Codes & Standards. Checks that Company complies with the approved Codes & Standards through periodic formal/informal reviews of deliverables.
Follows Kashagan Process Engineering policy and encourages process engineering best practices, RoK Design regulation, instructions and procedures for onshore with a degree of autonomy.
Supports onshore/offshore technical and compliance audits by PSA, local authorities and any others.
Recommends the application of new or as yet unproven technologies for Process Engineering.
Identify and mitigate any technical risks for Onshore/Offshore Process Engineering related to eMOCs and FSR (equipment performance standards deviations).
Supports Head of Process Engineering & Technology to review business critical deliverables as appropriate to Onshore/Offshore Process Engineering.
Supports Head of Process Engineering & Technology to prepare a report annually on the health of the process engineering discipline .
Job Family owner for Process Engineering and Flow Assurance and hence responsible for JCP profile for process engineering, including assessment of TA2/3 as well as supporting competency development through training/mentoring/coaching.
Process Engineering
Reviews plant change proposals (eMoC) on technical acceptability taking due account of process safety aspects.
Identifies and executes front end development for Potential Change Notices (brownfield projects <10mln USD) related to process facility improvements.
Provides process engineering support during FEED and Detailed Design.
Provides on-the-job-training, coaching and mentoring to National staff.
Guides team’s technical work under general direction from the Process Engineering Team Lead.
Ensures practical application of process engineering guidelines for the Onshore/Offshore Asset.
Generates opportunities to optimize onshore/offshore energy and resources utilization (heat, power and water).
Investigates process flow assurance issues, process control queries, updating operating procedures and system optimization and troubleshooting. Reports findings to Team Lead. Supports best practices, new technologies and knowledge sharing to leverage improved functional responsiveness for the Process Engineering team.
Guides the process engineering support related to operations, commissioning and restart of onshore/offshore production gathering and treatment facilities. Participates in HAZOP, HAZID, IPF, Risk Assessments and QRA reviews to manage effective Process Engineering input. Confirms that Process Engineering activities are carried out in accordance with applicable HSE practices and procedures.
Conducts reviews of process documentation including flow schemes, specifications and operating procedures.
Delivers process studies and makes recommendations related to the onshore/offshore Assets.
Recommends and advises optimal and safe operating windows for all onshore/offshore facilities.
Organizes technical reviews of onshore/offshore environmental performance, licensing and reporting.
Support the P&M Operability & Maintainability Module reviews, conduct follow-up site visits and manage the concerns registries that will deliver improvements
Provide Process Engineering support to shutdown planning and activity coordination.
Research and prepare Potential Change Notices (PCN’s) to ensure that the document content is valid, technically sound and where possible prepare cost estimations to support its endorsement by management.
Responds to the different technical requirements of the onshore/offshore Assets.
Confirms the technical quality of all Onshore/Offshore Process Engineering work including work from indirect contractor reports
Contributes new ideas and identifies opportunities to improve the effeciency of business processes.

Demonstrates a positive and pro-active commitment to HSE through the personal application of safety critical behaviors;
Compliance with Republic of Kazakhstan Statutory HSE Regulations, Codes and Standards;
Applying Company HSE Policies & Management System Requirements;
Supporting/ Participating in Emergency Drills and Exercises as required;
Reporting all Accidents/ Incidents and Unsafe Acts/ Conditions in a timely manner.
Process Owner/focal point for Process Safety Memorandums, Process Safety Valves calculations and Low Temperature Embrittlement.
Makes Technical decisions that may have a mid level impact to Asset Integrity and Process Safety.
Qualification & Experience Requirements:
Degree in Process engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in Process Engineering is expected for a successful application (applicant needs to be a Process Engineering TA2 or equivalent and/or be assessed as TA2 within 4 months in role). Expertise and technical knowledge of Process Engineering, International engineering standards and best practices.
Familiar with part of, or the entire, Project life cycle (from conceptual design through to final commissioning and handover) and/or in the front line oil and gas production operations is desirable.
Experience of driving business improvement in engineering, key words being: technology, fit-for-purpose solutions and cost effectiveness. Experience in staff development, training, coaching or mentoring.
Experience of working in a high concentration H2S environment. Knowledge of and familiar with issues surrounding high pressure and high content H2S facilities. Experience of working in onshore and offshore operating environment.

Have a good understanding Process Engineering, Company and Industry Codes and Standards. Approaches tasks or problems by breaking them down into their component parts and considering each part in detail.
