Job Accountabilities:
Member of the Inspections & Litigation Department in Company’s Legal Directorate to provide legal advice and support in a pro-active, timely, cost-effective and professional manner;
Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach, monitor and evaluate results;
Ensure that legal considerations, including mitigation of legal risks identified by the Department, are taken into account in operations, planning activities and relations with the Republic of Kazakhstan (RoK) government and other relevant third parties;
Monitor relevant legal developments and communicate these to the business and functional Directorates;
Give advice on compliance with the NCSPSA & JOA, and relevant RoK and other applicable laws, to the business and functional Directorates;
Contribute to relevant intra-Venture committees and sub-committees;
Maintain liaison with the Authority under the NCSPSA and other RoK governmental bodies, including the General Prosecutor’s Office, the local environmental authorities, security services, emergency situation authorities, and tax and customs bodies;
Represent Company in meetings and negotiations with the Authority, other RoK governmental bodies and other third parties;
Legal review of relevant Managing Director correspondence;
Liaise with shareholders’ lawyers on relevant legal issues with oversight by a Managing Counsel or the Legal Director;
Refer matters to and work with external counsel and notaries;
Perform such other duties and tasks as may be assigned by a Managing Counsel or the Legal Director;
Represent the Company in all courts of the Republic of Kazakhstan during consideration of civil, administrative and criminal cases, in state authorities during consideration of administrative cases and complaints (appeals) against the Company, to perform legal actions on protection of the rights and interests of the Company and its officials;
Provide legal support to all Company’’s Directorates and Divisions during conducting of the state inspections (legal advices, visiting inspected facilities, customs inspection of goods, interrogations, providing explanatory notes, participation in inspection and investigation actions), initiated by the state authorities, prosecutor’s offices, national security authorities, state border and others;
Provide legal support to the Company and/or its officials and employees in cases of emergency at working and non-working hours at various state authorities, including prosecutor’s offices, law-enforcement authorities, Oblasts and Cities Administrations and administrative courts (arrests, interrogation of Company employees, criminal investigation actions, seizure of material evidences, incidents, accidents, inventory withdrawal, etc.);
Provide legal support to Company’s Divisions on requests coming from the state authorities on Company’s business activity issues (meetings);
Make legal analysis of possible risks for Company’s business activity due to changes and amendments to the RoK legislation;
Make legal analysis of possible risks during legal review of the requests receiving from the state authorities and finding of positive decisions for the Company.

Qualification & Experience Requirements:
University law degree;
Minimum of 8 years experience of working in a legal role, preferably in litigation.
