Job Accountabilities:

  • Complete assigned work in time to meet KPO schedules and Units requests.
  • The work will include: investigations, surveys, feasibility studies, calculations, simulations, conceptual design, detailed design, production of drawings, engineering reports and scope of works, cost estimation, equipment and material specification and procurement.
  • Supervise electrical pre-engineering and feasibility work assigned to external design institutes and engineering companies; maintain the progress and quality of this work.
  • Report progress of all assigned work to Senior Electrical Engineer.
  • Participate in the risk assessment and hazard and operability studies of designs.
  • Perform peer and inter-discipline checks on work by engineers within and outside the Field Facilities Modification Department.
  • Ensure the selection of cost effective designs and materials, taking into account operating costs and standardization of equipment.
  • Control technical compliance of purchased electrical equipment and materials.

 

Qualification requirements:

  • Electrical Engineer I: higher education (University degree or higher) in the relevant speciality and not less than 2 years of work experience as Electrical Engineer II.
  • Electrical Engineer II: higher education (University degree or higher) in the relevant speciality and not less than 2 years of work experience as Electrical Engineer III.
  • Electrical Engineer III: higher education (University degree or higher) in the relevant speciality without any work experience requirements or secondary professional education in the relevant speciality and not less than 2 years of work experience as Technician I.
  • Onshore oil & gas upstream facilities.
  • Engineering practice for project concept selection, FEED study, detailed design follow-on engineering and closeout.
  • Field electrical installations in the oil and gas industry.
  • Methods for specifying electrical equipment.
  • Electrical theory and its practical implementation.
  • Electrical distribution system up to 35KV.
  • Electrical protection systems.
  • RoK and international codes, regulations and standards relating to electrical engineering.
  • Latest developments and current best practice in electrical engineering.
  • Fluent communication skills in technical English.
  • Technical report writing.
  • Time management.
  • Computer literacy.
