Job Accountabilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate day-by-day well operations activities in order to guarantee that operations meet the targets set in approved programmes, plans and procedures prepared by the Well Operations Engineering.
  • Apply HSE leadership by intervening in unsafe behaviours, identifying and rectifying unsafe conditions, ensuring adherence to risk mitigation measures, stopping work if necessary and participating in onsite HSE meetings, tool box talks, inspections and audits whenever possible.
  • Comply with HSE policy and procedures and RoK HSE regulations when fulfilling duties and ensure that all personnel including contractors working on well sites are fully aware of the operations and all operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, raising and rectifying known on-site non-compliances.
  • Ensure that safety meetings (tool box talks) are held with contractors at the start of each shift change and prior to the start of each activity. To participate in monthly KPO HSE meetings at least once per shift.
  • Ensure control of contractors’ performance. To ensure reporting on routine well operations progress and approve contractors’ service tickets, verifying compliance of material and services requested.
  • Follow up, in cooperation with Aksai Well Operation’s team and contractors, technical solutions aimed at well operations optimization and cost saving. To contribute to the implementation of relevant procedures and techniques necessary to enhance rig operations efficiency.

Qualification requirements:

  • Higher education (University degree or higher) in the relevant speciality and not less than 2 years of work experience in the positions of specialist or secondary professional education and not less than 3 years of work experience in production activity control;
  • The current International Well Control Certificate;
  • Knowledge of risk management and HSE management;
  • Organizational/management documentation, standards and technical procedures relating to the operational and business activities within the discipline;
  • Engineering requirements applied to work, carried out within the discipline, drilling and completion technology;
  • Equipment and its operational regulations;
  • Advanced domestic and foreign experience relating to the similar activities carried out within the discipline;
  • Labour management, operations and management basics;
  • Labour legislation basics; labour protection regulations.
  • Basic skills in petroleum and mechanical engineering;
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural environment in an operations team;
  • Analytical approach to solve technical complex problems;
  • Good oral, presentation and written communication skills in English;
  • Must be able to communicate efficiently with various operational units and with a variety of nationalities and educational levels;
  • Good skills with PC in Windows environment. Ability to use software to work with wells diagrams and completion drawings, DIMS/Openwells software;
  • Prior experience with high pressure and sour gas wells and in fields with wells greater than 4000m;
  • Arctic or cold weather experience.
