Requirements:

  • Degree BSc or equivalent level ( 5 years ) in engineering or subsurface related discipline;
  • Demonstrable experience (min. 10 years) and proven track record in oil & gas engineering and development.
  • Demonstrable experience (min. 5 years) in management / supervisory role.
  • Previous experience and familiarity with RoK and/ or other Caspian projects highly desirable.
  • 10 +years of experience minimum, including assignments to operational positions in subsidiaries and deep knowledge of one or two subsurface and/or surface trades.
  • Good knowledge of the different aspects of production and exploration, particularly the process of appraisal and development of reservoirs.
  • Good knowledge of the process of project maturation including planning, budgeting, resourcing, reporting, reaching milestones, approvals and project handover.
  • Wide technical knowledge.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex technical / commercial problems and to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to lead large teams and develop skills and careers of department staff
  • Full understanding of importance in planning and executing projects in the Oil & Gas business.
  • Proactive approach to decisional process.
  • Knowledge of all relevant discipline codes and standards.
  • Full understanding of HSE importance in planning and executing projects.
  • Proactive approach to HSE issues and process of safety/hazard management;

Responsibilities:

The job holder is responsible for:

  • Manage studies and develop strategy for resource monetization of the entire NCSPSA.
  • Drive the coordination and the participation in the company integrated teams (surface & subsurface) to progress the development studies from preliminary studies phase to concept selection.
  • Generate the development study strategy for the assigned asset in line with field development plans.
  • Prepare and manage the schedule of studies, via the development planning manager and in liaison with required company interfaces.
  • Drive the Development Heads to review, challenge, broaden concept study scenarios, encourage “out of the box" thinking, look for synergies between projects and stimulate concept creativity within the development planning and study teams.
  • Ensure the required information is provided for the update of the Venture Reference Plan.
  • Incorporate lessons learned and experience from Experimental Phase and other Kashagan development phases into the studies.
  • Integrate new technologies as necessary to add economic value to field development Ensure that outcomes derived from the studies are reported in time and in detail to the stakeholders and concerned parties in accordance with company CMS approval process.
  • Prepare and present study findings and updates as requested by Management.
  • Organize the handover of studies results to the Directorate in charge of implementation.
  • Ensure that the Development studies generate concepts that are in line with NCSPSA CMS procedures, HSE policy and permitting requirements.
  • Organize company internal validation of studies through the relevant Quality Reviews and Committees.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget of studies. Forecast required resources to meet schedule commitments.
  • Assign functions, roles and responsibilities to departmental personnel.
