Requirements:

  • Qualified Fixed Wing and/or Rotary Wing Pilot preferred.
  • 8-10 years minimum experience in the aviation industry.
  • 4 years’ experience in a supervisor/advisor role.
  • Extensive experience (5 years) in offshore/onshore helicopter operations including knowledge of Fixed Wing and Rotary wing operating standards.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience is expected for TA-2’s to be assessed for overall discipline
  • Experience in dealing with Government Officials and with executives of contracting companies, Team work and motivating skills are essential.
  • Extensive knowledge and management of aviation services and UAV (drone) services.
  • Fully conversant with aviation requirements for offshore drilling rigs operations.
  • High level of communication and influencing skills, able to negotiate outcomes across all levels of multiple organizations and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and periodic reviews of long term business and contracting strategies for aviation services to support all Company production operations activities across multiple locations.
  • Provide and manage safe and efficient Rotary Wing and UAV (drone) aviation services in accordance with Contractual, National, International and Company requirements.
  • Management of all aviation contracts, as Contract Holder for all associated contracts, with responsibility to develop strategies to manage cost exposure associated with non-linear customer demand across multiple stakeholders.
  • Development, preparation and continual review and update of relevant Company procedures, practices and associated manuals, based on deep technical knowledge and extensive subject matter skills in the specialist area of aviation transportation and UAVs, developed through many years of working experience. 
  • Responsible for development and management of annual and multi-year budgets (AWB&P) determined through communication and negotiation across multiple stakeholder departments in all areas of Company activities, with ultimate accountability to deliver all required services necessary to maintain Company production operations.
  • Management of day to day budget expenditure, to ensure no overspend of allocated budget, and all services managed in a cost effective way whilst maintaining Company HSSE and procurement policies and procedures.
  • Development of creative and novel solutions to complex non-routine operational problems/challenges, outside of normal expected operations, using deep subject matter knowledge to develop range of potential options, and accountable for outcome of developed solutions as Company principal technical expert in this field. 
  • Conduct site surveys and inspections on proposed aircraft and equipment prior to any commitment
  • Ensure adherence throughout the helicopter operation service of RoK and International aviation safety standards and Company HSE Management systems.
  • Monitor aircraft and contractor performance against agreed performance indicators and identify areas of improvement and optimization.
  • Recommend measures to enhance performances of existing services and potential new services or operational procedures, to achieve best results in Aviation Services.
  • Review Budgets/Forecast and assist other Corporate Departments in budgeting for Aviation related activities.
  • Ensure regular inspection the helidecks and helipads to assure safety and technical conformity.
  • Evaluate the training plan for aviation personnel and monitor their development.
  • Monitor on-site training for newcomers.
  • Liaise with the RoK Aviation government and its agencies in respect of Company Aviation Services.
  • Liaise with other Company Logistics, Operations, HSE, Projects, Procurement and any other Departments involved in Aviation related issues.
  • Perform Company Technical Authority role for all aviation transportation activities (people, materials, equipment etc.) and UAV (drone) activities and owner of Company aviation processes across all Company activities, having been assigned to the Technical Authority (TA2) role for aviation Logistics.
  • Where applicable, acts as Sub Family Job Owner. The roles and responsibilities associated with these roles will be defined via a HR guideline; but, they will include the development and approval of Job Competency Profiles and managing the maintenance of technical competencies.
  • For those disciplines designated as executing or supporting the execution of HSSE Critical Tasks (e.g. inspection of pressure relief devices; defining requirements for corrosion inhibition sampling), ensure the establishment and maintenance of controls required to manage the risks associated with Major Incident Hazards down to ALARP.
  • Under the direction of TA-1’s shall act as the focal point for the development and revision of Company Standards. As appropriate, may also recommend deviations from the approved Company Standards to the Functional Manager.
  • Maintains close working relationship with TA-1 to ensure alignment and continuity on technical aspects for acceptance of deliverables.
  • Reviews and approves key business deliverables appropriate to their discipline (e.g. those eMoC’s or PCN’s with significant multi-discipline content as shown in Annex B).
  • Accepts key business deliverables developed by the contractor on behalf of Company (after having assured compliance).
  • In coordination with TA-1, authorizes the design tools selected for use by Company.
  • Participates in contract tender evaluations to review contractor technical qualifications (experience, personnel, equipment, etc) for executing scope of work.
  • Participates in technical verification exercises of contractor deliverables.
  • Reviews and assesses competency of contractor’s personnel within their Discipline.
  • Manages competencies across Company organization within their Discipline.
